It's Boat Time!

Happy Friday! This week has seriously flown by but I must say, it's been a great one. Last night we went line dancing with some friends which to my amazement was actually tons of fun! Austin doesn't really ever feel like "Texas" but we sure felt like we were in Texas last night and it was a blast. Tonight, I'm throwing a going away party for a beautiful Yogini friend of mine whose moving with her military hubby to Japan for the next three years.

I'm SO excited about Saturday because we have booked a rental boat for 5 hours with some friends of ours. So that means we'll be able to enjoy the lake all afternoon. Le sigh. It will certainly be a treat!

What are you up to this weekend?

Recent Work {Modern & Feminine Wedding Invitation}

I've been busy in the studio lately working on new designs for the shop and am fortunate to have had some lovely clients that I've created some custom work for as well. I love working with clients and collaborating on what their goal is for an event, occasion, gift, what have you and being able to make their vision come to life is so rewarding! The above is an invitation for a bride who wanted to set the tone for her wedding with a clean, modern yet pretty and feminine vibe. I had so much fun working with typography to make for a modern look. I'm happy to say I absolutely love the way they turned out and so does she.

I hope you are all having a beautiful week!

Love & Light,
Christina

Serious Chocolate Craving!

Holy CHOCOLATE!!! At the moment I'm suffering from a serious chocolate craving. It's one of those cravings where you think you might be craving something sweet but when it comes right down to it all that will quench that rich, creamy craving is non other than girls best friend, chocolate. So I decided to curb my craving by creating this grouping of delectable chocolate choices. However I think after creating the board the only thing that's going to curb this craving is the real deal. Oh my those dark cocoa brownies!!

I'm now off to the kitchen in search of chocolate!

Have a wonderful rest of your day!!

Lollia Love

Ok, so I'm a sucker for a lot of things some of which being: pretty design, the spa, beautiful packaging, natural motifs, scalloped edges, natural linen, shimmery things, paper, bubble baths.... you get the point. Well Lollia {a luxurious bath brand} combines it all! Their products take my breath away with the amazingly GOREOUS packaging and soft lovely fragrances.  I've been smitten with the brand ever since I spotted it in a boutique and few years back. So I'd thought I share the goodness with you!

Sunday Brunch {Bouldin Creek Cafe}

Sunday we tried this local south Austin spot for brunch and it was de-light-ful! Bouldin Creek Coffeehouse Cafe serves top quality coffee and tea along with vegetarian and vegan cuisine. The vibe is hip and super laid back. Shown above are the veggie chorizo tacos', fresh local watermelon, eggs renedict {served with vegan hollandaise sauce} and the oh so yummy homemade blueberry cornbread. There's just something about having a lovely leisurely brunch that makes me giddy for the rest of the day.

Simple Summer Salad

This summer salad has all the elements that you'd want from a summer salad: light yet fulfilling, sweet, salty, nutty, creamy and fresh. The ingredients are below along with the recipe to my homemade balsamic honey mustard vinaigrette. {It's a household favorite around these parts!}

Summer Spinach Salad:
Organic baby spinach
Organic strawberries
Red onion
Nuts of choice {some tasty options are: cashews, macadamias, almonds, walnuts...}
Two organic free range eggs
{if you want this as a side instead of a main dish you can omit the eggs and it's just a tasty}
Goat cheese
Homemade vinaigrette

{Oh and the off white stuff on the plate is hummus} I had it on the side with crackers.

Balsamic Honey Mustard Vinaigrette:
{Recipe Yields 2-4 Servings}
6 turns of extra virgin olive oil to a bowl
4 turns of sweet aged balsamic vinaigrette to the bowl
1/2 tablespoon of spiced mustard
1 tablespoon of honey
1 garlic glove finely grated
fresh ground black pepper and sea salt to taste
Whisk with a fork and serve!

Enjoy!

Style {Fresh & Chic}

Loving loving loving this dress from Asos. In addition to the cream color above, it also comes in navy, orange and yellow. It's so feminine and has a fun summery vintage feel. And the scalloped edges are so perfect! Lately I've been quenching my summer thirst with Ayala's herbal water shown above. The water is fragrant, smooth and tastes pretty. The lavender mint is my fav!

1. Scalloped Shift Dress from Asos
2. Kate Spade New York Madeline Bag from Zappos
3. Lemongrass Mint Vanilla Herbal Water from Ayala's
4. Blu Bijoux Hinged Bangle from Max&Chloe

Have a beautiful day!

Peach Dreams

Lately, I've been seeing little local peach stands all over town and in our local groceries. We love eating local as much as possible and this time of year in Texas we are blessed with beautiful fragrant local peaches. This weekend I'm toying with the idea of making peach sorbet or maybe even peach cupcakes..

To say I'm 'in love' with the above Peppery Poppy Bloom Heals from BHLDN is an understatement. They're SO cute! Check out the Peach Cupcake Recipe here.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend full of sweetness!

The Garden {It's Happening!}

I planted my first garden this past spring and am very happy with what it's producing for us so far. It took some initial work in March preparing the bed to insure the soil was rich enough to produce happy veggies. But all I do now is water daily, and use an organic fertilizer once a month and this is what's happening:

We are very much enjoying our herbs {basil & mint} and hubby loves the cayenne pepper {not shown above}. I am anxiously waiting to eat the bell peppers, eggplant and tomatoes, which as you can see are almost ready. And let's talk about the sweet potatoes! The vines are practically taking over at this point and since the potatoes grow under ground, I'm not quite sure when they will be ready. Any ideas? I suppose I need to 'google' it. Either way I'm a proud garden momma and have been bitten by the green thumb bug for sure!

Blessings,

Long Lost Weekend

Yay! It's Friday and for most of us, that means a beautifully long three day weekend is ahead of us. What are your plans for the weekend? Or for the 4th of July?

We don't have anything big planned which is actually kind of nice. However a few things on the list are: a pool party/BBQ at our friends house, trying out a new restaurant on the lake, hiking with the dog, yoga, grilling with the family and I have some art projects I've been meaning to finish that I'll be able to tackle this weekend. Oh and maybe some sparklers but maybe not {fireworks kinda scare me}. Whatever your plans are, make sure you include plenty of fresh icy drinks and soak up the beauty of all that is.

Happy 4th of July!

Blessings!
