Love is in the Air
Valentines Day is in two weeks, so I thought It'd be fun to feature some Twig & Lily sentiment for the occasion. I find that when I honor and recognize my love for others I'm able to allow my heart to feel a deep since of grace and graduated and thats where the real gift comes in.
All four cards can be found in the shop here.

Oh Baby Moon
Brett and I took an extended weekend last week for our "Baby Moon". Which in other words was an excuse to get away and spend quality quiet time together before our little bundle arrives. We ventured to Scottsdale Arizona, where the weather was beautifully perfect, the food was delicious and the relaxation was abundant.
dessert everyday, succulents, cacti and mountains galore and preggie cocktails aka, fresh juice daily.
It was truly a blessed trip. I love that man of mine. Now that we're back, I'm officially done with traveling until after our babe is born. Now my focus will be solely on teaching, Twig & Lily orders and getting the casa ready for our little man.
Have a blessed and beautiful week lovelies!

Pretty Peach Finds
Peach and coral hues have really been capturing my attention lately. Coral looks beautiful paired with navy, cream, mint and dark brown, just to name a few. Coral to me evokes freshness, vibrancy and femaninity. Therefore pairs so well in design of all kinds. Specifically event and fashion design. I've found myself using more coral pairings in my custom stationery design and art work and am loving the results. On a side note whenever I see the softened orangy pink hue, I'm suddenly in the mood for a cup of sorbet. Yum!

Weekend Blessings
My Birthday weekend was full of sweetness. Friday we had dinner with friends at Fonda San Migual. The food was amazing and the Crepas de Cajeta, is a must try dessert. I was showered with flowers, cards, balloons, massage gift certificates and best of all laughter and love. After dinner, we headed to karaoke for a two hour impromptu jam session. So fun! The rest of the weekend was spent running fun baby errands, snuggling up on the couch for pizza and movies, taking walks and the starting of a very large art piece.
Have a beautiful week lovelies!

Happy Birthday!
Today I turn another year older and wiser. We plan to celebrate this weekend but I was surprised early this morning with balloons, flowers and breakfast in bed. I felt loved!
Check out that beautiful cake topper above from Potter + Butler. Since, I'm in the birthday mood today, I couldn't help but marvel at all the beautifully modern and simplistic cake toppers that Potter + Butler offers. And in celebration of my B-Day, I've featured some birthday card designs from the Twig & Lily shop.

Jenna Rose ~ Handmade
I recently came across this amazing Etsy shop called 'Jenna Rose Handmade'. The shop houses beautiful screen printed textiles for the home. I love the natural motifs and simple lines. And the fact that they use non-toxic waterbased pigments on natural and organic materials makes the beautiful items that much more appealing. Check out their full shop here.

Weekend Blessings
This weekend was welcomed with the gift of hubby arriving home from a business trip late on Friday night. He was greeted with the aroma of fresh garden roses I had purchased for myself earlier in the week. On Saturday we went to our friends house for game night. My lovely and talented friend Jenny hosted this time and made a plethora of French delights including, brie with roasted cherries and toasted pecans, quiche, and a pretty assortment of fruits , veggies and cheeses. This pregnant girl was VERY excited about all the yummies. And check out the cool chalk board on her pantry door. Too cute! Then I was surprised with my very own birthday carrot cake {my fav}. On Sunday, we registered for our baby shower. Weekend blessings in deed!
Have a blessed week lovelies!

Weekend Blessings
My weekend was pretty much full of tea, cupcakes and shopping with a few other things sprinkled in. Needless to say, I can't complain. The tea above is from one of my favorite local spots 'Boudin Creek Cafe'. The tea is a coconut variety with steamed almond milk. It's SO good! I spent oodles of time wandering dreamily around Paper-Source and West Elm and did lots of reading while hubby painted the nursery.

Chicken Parmesan Meatball Subs
Last week, I had a serious Italian food craving and wanted to make something hearty yet simple, so chicken parmesan meatball subs it was. The subs are so satisfying when paired with a light salad of dried cranberries, cashews, olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Chicken Parmesan Meatball Subs:
1 pound ground chicken breast
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
2 garlic gloves minced
1/4 or 1/2 of an onion {diced}
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
1 egg
A healthy drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil
2 cups of good quality marinara or tomato sauce
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt & pepper to taste
1 to 1 1/2 cups of provolone or mozzarella cheese
Sub rolls of choice {for this recipe I use wheat sub rolls}
In a medium sized bowl combine the chicken with the worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, egg, extra-virgin olive oil, dried basil, dried oregano, salt and pepper. Combine the meat mixture and form 6-7 meatballs. Once you form the meatballs you can squish them slightly to prevent them from falling off your sub, {tip from Rachael Ray}. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Preheat an oven safe pan to medium heat and add in a healthy drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Add the meatballs to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side. Add the marinara sauce over the meatballs and then place the entire pan in the preheated oven. Cook the meatballs for an additional 5 to 7 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the oven. Place the sub rolls on a cookie sheet and lightly drizzle them with extra virgin olive oil. Place three meatballs on one side of the rolls. Lightly cover the meatballs with sauce and add as much mozzarella or provolone cheese as desired. Return the subs to the oven and broil on high for 2 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bread is golden.
Enjoy!

A Beautiful New Year
2011 was an amazing year. I grew Twig & Lily to where it is today, became a better teacher, a better student and was blessed with the news that we are expecting our first child. Now that I am saying goodbye and thank you to last year, I'm so looking forward to the promise that 2012 holds.
My only resolution is to strive to be the best version of myself I can be. Even though that affirmation is short and sweet, it encompasses so much....
In 2012 I want to live more and love more that means taking more time to soak up nature and savor great food, read good books, practice yoga daily in one way or another even if it’s taking in 5 deliciously mindful breaths, I want to continue to teach and touch lives through yoga, continue to grow Twig & Lily and to meet many more lovely clients in the process, and to work smarter in the process, I want to laugh more {particularly at myself}, dance more, sing more and to see the world through pure loving eyes.
Above all else, this year, in just a few shorts months, my husband and I will be blessed with our first child. My heart swells with the promise of happiness and fulfillment that being a parent will bring. 2012 you are going to be so amazingly blessed and I can feel the immense promise that you hold.
To all of you, I wish you a new year filled with abundant blessings, happiness, love, success vibrancy and a life well lived!
Happy New Year!
